The
Sacré-Coeur, in the Montmartre area, was built as a result
of a private religious vow made at the outbreak of the Franco-Prussion
war. Work began in 1875 and completed in 1914. The building is an
impressive sight ane one of France's most important Roman Catholic
buildings.
Musée
d'Orsay opened in 1986 on the site of a mainline railway station,
the Orléans railway terminus in the heart of Paris. The station
narrowly avoided demolition in the 1970's. The museum presents a
rich diversity of exhibits including work by Claude Monet, Renoir,
Rodin, Edouard Manet Vincent Van Gogh and Edgar Dégas.
The
Eiffel

The
Musée
de Louvre contains one of the most important art collections
in the world and is home to the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da
Vinci
The
Pompidou Centre seems like a building that is inside out with escalators,
lifts, air ducts amd water ducts all on the outside. Even the steel
struts that make up the skeleton of the building are exposed.
